What We Do

MFNS projects ensure that individuals can have the skills necessary to generate an income so that they are not permanently dependent on aid agencies for food and shelter.

Who We Work With

Since its inception, the number of social services that MFNS works with has been constantly growing. MFNS is committed to a partnership-based approach to poverty eradication and empowerment.

By working through partners, MFNS is able to ensure that more of your donations reach those in need, rather than being spent on administration.

MFNS would like thank North of McKnight Resource Centre for their continuous support since 2007 in accommodating MFNS every Tuesday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm in their facility.

Shelter

MFNS believes that a home is the key to a person’s sense of security, dignity and their ability to aspire to a better future.

In the longer-term MFNS vision is to work together with its partners to build and provide permanent housing in accordance with the individual needs.

Education

MFNS believes that education is the knowledge of putting ones potentials to maximum use. Education allows people to develop the technical and leadership skills they need to empower their families and break the cycle of poverty.

MFNS does not accept that people should be excluded from education due to poverty, gender or ethnic background.

MFNS helps to deliver education by providing workshops and conferences, providing educational materials and developing programmes of study.

Through education MFNS aims to give individuals the skills they need to create a sustainable, brighter future for themselves and their families.

Programmes range from pre-school initiatives to teen-age and adult education programs.
